Book of the Month

The tea clipper Cutty Sark set sail on its maiden voyage on 15 February 1870. Headed for Shanghai it carried a varied cargo, but on its return trip it was loaded with almost 600,000kg (over 1 million pounds) of tea!

Our Book of the Month for February is At Sea Without Tea – perfect for families visiting Cutty Sark this half-term. Filled with lively illustrations, the book follows young James Robson, Cutty Sark’s cook, on a quest to source a pot of tea for the tired ship’s captain.
